Hello and welcome to my website.

I am an artist who lives and works in the Shropshire town of Ludlow. I trained in Bristol and The Royal Academy of Arts in London , graduating in painting in 1991. I have had numerous exhibitions over the years, including having paintings hung in the Royal Academy in London and the Mall Galleries also in London. I have won awards and prizes for my art work.

My art work is made using traditional methods , painting in oil paint on canvas or board and drawing with pencil, charcoal and chalk on quality paper. 

 I love visiting places to paint such as Cornwall and the Lake District as well as travelling further afield to get inspiration.

I am very lucky to live in the town of Ludlow  in the county of Shropshire in England, it is a very beautiful and typically English scenery ,the landscape is stunning and very rural. There are beautiful rivers, fields and rolling hills. This  landscape often features in my art work 

Painting colour and light are at the heart of art work.I love landscape and architecture. I am particularly inspired by water, rivers ,seas, reflections, movement.

I also love the city, particularly London, which is such a creative and stimulating place, something is always being built up . I love the relationship between the London skyline and the River Thames.

Nature, colour ,light, water and architecture are the main themes of my work.

While the weather is fine, I have been painting outside .

I have new paintings on this website on the watercolour painting page.

My inspiration is largely the changing light and colours found in the landscape, I try to reflect this in my paintings. I am constantly excited by dancing light and shifting shadows!

About Sally

Hello and welcome to my website.

I am a full time artist , I often paint landscapes , seascapes, flowers , still lives and portraits.

I have a Fine Art Degree from Bristol and graduated from The Royal Academy Schools at The Royal Academy of Arts in London in 1991, with a post graduate in painting. I was a prize winner in my year and I also won The David Murray Landscape Scholarship three times. My work has been exhibited in The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and The Mall Galleries  and many more galleries.

I  also show at The Russell Gallery Putney. My art work has been bought by many collectors over the years. 

I often paint landscapes , seascapes, flowers , still lives and portraits.

I have a studio in Ludlow in Shropshire, where I live and find inspiration in the landscape. I travel often and draw and paint where ever I go , particularly enjoying the coast around Cornwall which provides stunning subject  matter.
